Adding Gloss to Pixel Text

Adding gloss to your pixel text is super easy and looks really neat! You can do it with about any art program. Paint, Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop all work fine, but since I only have Photoshop, you should probably know how to work your programs to follow along. ;)

001. Open up whatever you want and type your text with the text (T) tool. Make sure to use a pixel/bitmap font. It looks the best if your text has some kind of border.

002. Zoom until you can see every pixel.
003. Select the pencil tool and use a color somewhat lighter than your text color. Click on the corners or each text like this:

004. Zoom back out and admire the finished product!
