Error Documents

First of all, open your .htaccess file and type in this code:
ErrorDocument 404 http://www.yourdomain.com/404error.html
Replace http://www.yourdomain.com to your site.
Easy as that! Now edit the bold information. Save the file and you're all set!

You can make more, of course! Replace 404 with 403, 401, etc. Just make sure that each ErrorDocument line is on a separate line.
