Adding Border to Text

Note: This tutorial is out of date! I left it here 'cause I was too lazy to take it out. There's a better version of this tutorial, y'know :P.

This took me for ever to figure out. I searched up on Google, looking for the answer. However, after a couple of days, I figured out how to do it.

Look up at the top of the screen. You see the welcome image? The title that says 'stained ink html'? It has a nice white border around it. Adding a border to your text is decorative and helps it stand out. Here's the quick and easy tutorial to help you achieve your goal.

Open up Photoshop and select File - New.
On your new image, select the text tool. (The one that has a T on it).
Do not apply the text yet. First go to Layer - New... - Layer. I usually don't name my layers, but you can if you want.
Now you can apply your text.
Go to layer - layer style - outer glow.
Click on the pale yellow box, and choose the color you want your border to be.
Click on the gradient rectangle box next to it, and click on the arrow all the way to the right.
Change the opacity from 0 to 100.
Under elements, change the drop down list to 'Precise'.
Now feel free to change the Size and any other details.
